Yoshiko Akamatsu, Ph.D.
Senior Director, Antibody Discovery and Engineering
Yoshiko leads the discovery and optimization of therapeutic antibodies using cutting-edge technologies.
About
Yoshiko is responsible for designing therapeutic antibodies and advanced biologics modalities to identify promising leads for studies addressing unmet medical needs.
Yoshiko joined Calico from AbbVie, where she led numerous biologics programs from exploratory concepts to candidate nomination, established a multi-specific biologics discovery platform team, and built an mRNA/LNP modality expert group as an internal gene delivery platform. Before AbbVie, Yoshiko worked at Abbott Biotherapeutics, Facet Biotech, PDL BioPharma and was an Associate Professor at the Institute for Genome Research, University of Tokushima, Japan.
