Podamibe Simple Footer Widget Area is a free plugin which allows you to create footer areas from 1 – 7 depending upon the requirement of your theme. It provides you some set of pre-build widgets for easiness. It helps you create footer that includes website informations or organisation information along with copyright information.

Installation
Unzip simple-footer-widget-area.zip
Upload all the files to the /wp-content/plugins/simple-footer-widget-area
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
For customizing the plugin’s settings, click on Settings menu in WordPress left admin menu and click on SFWA Setting.

What does this plugin do?
This plugin creates footer widget areas according to user settings and helps design a fascinating footer section for the site.
How does this plugin work?
This is a widget dependent plugin. It includes few helper widgets for your start up and is supportive of any widgets downloaded.
This plugin is not working?
Every theme must have <?php wp_footer(); ?> somewhere in the footer.php file.
Most themes have it, so if you try this and it doesn�t show, check the theme�s footer file first.
For some themes, the footer hook is left blank, or uses a theme-specific hook such as twentytfourteen_credits, twentyfifteen_credits, genesis_footer, etc.

Happy with this plugin functionality, using this since 15 months and it’s really help me to create custom footer for my all projects, but since last update – short code are not working with this
Can you solve it so it really help us…
Specially Contact Form 7 Short Code is not working with Footer area…
Hope so soon this issue solve and we will again use this plugin ….

Well, I couldn’t be happier.  It was easy to configure (a testament to the dev for making a great UI) and it just simply adds an extra footer to your site.  It’s what I wanted, it’s exactly what I got.  Thank you very much, it is indeed… Excellent!

My site theme came with no option to change their pre-formatted footer options, so I had to look for something I could use myself. I’m not an expert wordpress coder, or developer, so it needed to be simple to use and configure.
This plugin works perfectly, once you work out how to add it (which is actually pretty simple if you follow the instructions)
It creates your chosen number of footer columns with access to Widgets to add items to each.
It’s really helped me to create the footer I needed.
Also, when my site theme updated, it affected the plugin, which I needed support to fix. they were quick to respond (once I’d emailed them) and answered in the forum with the solution.
Well done, this is a great plugin and I’d definitely recommend it.
