𝐀𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐢𝐭 𝐈𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐝: 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫, 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲 👇 If you're a founder or business owner thinking about an exit in the next few years, the legal and governance groundwork you lay now is often the difference between a smooth transaction and a stressful one. That's exactly the perspective Andrew Gregory brings to our panel. Andrew is Founder of Leonard Curtis Legal and will be chairing our next Boardroom Diaries breakfast, An Exit Isn't the End: Designing What Comes Next. With over 40 years' experience in corporate law and business restructuring, Andrew has advised businesses of every size, from sole traders to international companies, through some of their most complex moments. He spent 25 years with DWF, leading the Manchester office's growth from a regional operation into a national practice, before founding Leonard Curtis Legal. He's recognised in both Chambers Legal Directory and Legal 500 as a leader in his field. Having seen businesses at their most challenging moments as well as their most successful, Andrew knows exactly what separates an exit-ready business from one that isn't, and it's rarely down to luck. He'll be guiding the conversation on 29th July, drawing out the governance, legal and restructuring considerations every founder should be thinking about long before a transaction is on the table. If you're building towards an exit, or advising founders who are, this is a conversation worth being in the room for. 🗓️ Wednesday 29th July 📍 NatWest Accelerator, Spinningfields, Manchester ⏰ 8:30am - 10:30am Spaces are strictly limited. 𝐀𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐢𝐭 𝐈𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐝: 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 👇 On Wednesday 29th July, VirtualNonExecs.com and NatWest Accelerator are bringing together five outstanding voices from across the North West's founder, advisory and exit community for our next Boardroom Diaries breakfast. 📅 Wednesday 29th July 📍 NatWest Accelerator, Spinningfields, Manchester ⏰ 8:30am – 10:30am Selling a business is rarely the finish line founders expect it to be. The strongest exits are built years in advance, and what happens after the deal closes matters just as much as the transaction itself. This panel brings together the people who see that journey from every angle: the founder who has done it five times over, the legal, deal advisory, private banking and board expertise that shapes an exit long before it happens. Mark Mills OBE DL has built and sold five businesses, including Cardpoint, grown from a start-up in 2000 into Europe's largest independent cash machine company before exiting at £175 million. Since 2007 he has applied those lessons as a Non-Executive Chairman for other founders. Mark will bring the rare perspective of someone who has personally lived the exit journey, from both sides of the table. Elizabeth Gooch MBE founded a UK tech company that listed on AIM, completed acquisitions and international partnerships, and was acquired by Verint Software Inc. in 2017, one of a small number of women to have listed a tech company on AIM. She is now Founder of The Tech Growth Factory, and NED and RemCo Chair across PLC and private boards, helping founders build scalable, exit-ready businesses. Samuel Davies is Partner and Head of Deal Advisory at Cowgills, part of the Sumer Group, leading a team of 40 across Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, Debt Advisory, Valuations and Financial Modelling. With a strong focus on TMT, Sam advises shareholders on M&A and as a strategic partner in building long-term value ahead of a sale. Mike Abbott is Director, Private Banker & Wealth Manager at Coutts, where he has worked since 2007. Mike supports entrepreneurs and founders through significant financial milestones, helping them navigate life before, during and after a business exit. As part of Coutts' Business Exit Programme, he advises on wealth structuring, succession planning and long-term financial planning following liquidity events. Chairing the discussion is Andrew Gregory, Founder of Leonard Curtis Legal. A solicitor with over 30 years' experience, Andrew is the former head of Restructuring at a national law firm, advising banks, private equity houses and insolvency practitioners. He'll guide the conversation on the governance and legal considerations that shape a business's exit readiness. Spaces are strictly limited. 𝐀𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐢𝐭 𝐈𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐝: 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 Join VirtualNonExecs.com and NatWest Accelerator on Wednesday 29th July, 8.30am - 10.30am for the next exclusive Boardroom Diaries breakfast, focused on what really happens after the deal closes. For most founders, selling the business is seen as the finish line. In reality, it's the beginning of an entirely new chapter. Whether it's a trade sale, private equity investment, IPO, MBO or family succession, the strongest exits are rarely built in the final months before a transaction. They're the result of years of planning, strong governance, the right advisers and a clear understanding of what comes next. 🗓️ Wednesday 29th July 📍 NatWest Accelerator, Spinningfields, Manchester ⏰ 8:30am – 10:30am Through an honest panel discussion and audience Q&A, we'll be unpacking: 👉 What actually makes a business exit-ready 👉 The role boards, Chairs and NEDs play in creating value 👉 What buyers, investors and advisers are really looking for 👉 Governance, legal and tax considerations before a transaction 👉 Succession planning and reducing founder dependency 👉 Life after exit, personally and professionally This isn't another corporate finance seminar. It's a practical conversation about what founders wish they'd known sooner, and how to design your next chapter before you sign. The room will bring together founders, CEOs, NEDs, Chairs, investors and senior advisors from across the North West. Spaces are strictly limited.
