Supercharge your design tasks by connecting your creative design apps to AI Mode. When you connect a creative design app to AI Mode, you can:
- Create new designs based on your request.
- Generate Google images in AI Mode and take further action, including detailed editing, in the connected app.
What you need
Important: This feature is only available with select creative design apps, such as Canva in the US in English.
- You must be signed into a Google Account
- Many apps require you to have an account with their service, which you will have to connect to your Google Account first to take action. You can use this feature without a pre-linked account only where available.
How it works
- On your computer, go to Google Search and tap AI Mode
.
- You can also go to google.com/ai.
- Enter your question in the Ask anything bar near the bottom of the screen. For example:
- “Make a cool birthday party invitation in Canva for my 25th. Include bright flashy colors with neon glitter and chrome accents. Include a placeholder where I can add a funny childhood photo.”
- “Take this image [generated via AI Mode] and export to Canva so I can print a tote bag with it.”
- Tip: Say “export to Canva” in your query
- If your creative app isn’t connected, you’ll get the option to connect it.
- To connect to the 3P app, your account must be linked to your Google Account. If it isn’t, then follow the on-screen instructions to link it.
- Tip: Content generation uses your monthly app quota. If you run out, upgrade your plan or wait until next month to get more. Learn more.
- Once AI Mode has completed your request, it will direct you to the creative app for further action.
Current Design Apps Available
- Canva
- Issuing these design requests in AI Mode will count towards your Canva monthly quota (which you can find based on your subscription tier).
- Please make sure to click on a design candidate for it to be saved to your Canva account for later editing and action; otherwise the image generated is temporary and will expire.
What you can’t do in AI Mode
AI Mode currently can’t perform certain actions for you using the connected creative app. AI Mode can’t:
- Do detailed editing of your original design candidate; please go to the connected app for further editing.
- Manage your brand assets, like uploading logos, custom fonts, or color palettes.
- Upload any image to be exported to and further edited in the connected app. Currently only Google-generated images are supported for export to your connected design app.
- Get user reviews and ratings.
- Get your account billing or upgrade information.
Optimize your experience
For the best experience, enable history and personalized recommendations. Without this setting enabled, you can still access AI Mode but can't pick up where you left off with previous searches.
