These are rolling out gradually over the next few months. If the settings in this article do not match what you see, history and personalized recommendations for Search services are still controlled by Web & App Activity. Search’s 3P Connected Apps platform enables you to create custom playlists or add a song to listen to later directly in AI Mode with your favorite music apps. What you need Important: This feature is only available with select media apps such as YouTube Music, in the US in English. You must be signed into a Google Account Many apps require you to have an account with their service, which you will have to connect to your Google Account first to take action. You can use this feature without a pre-linked account only where available. How it works On your computer, go to Google Search and tap AI Mode . You can also go to google.com/ai. Enter your question in the Ask anything bar near the bottom of the screen. For example: “Add the main desert theme from Dune to my playlist.” “I have friends coming over for sushi night in 20 minutes. Create a 2-hour playlist of lofi beats mixed with modern city pop that creates a cozy vibe.” If your media app isn’t already connected, you’ll get the option to connect it. To connect to the app, your app account must be linked to your Google Account. If it isn’t, then follow the on-screen instructions to link it. Tip: Make sure you’re signed in to the same account you use with the app. Tip: add your desired app name to your query Once AI Mode has completed your request, it will direct you to the media app for further action. Current Media Apps Available YouTube Music What you can’t do in AI Mode AI Mode currently can’t perform certain actions for you using the connected media app. AI Mode can’t: Add or remove songs from the custom playlist generated Add songs to a pre-existing playlist other than Liked Songs Optimize your experience Enable history and personalized recommendations. Without this setting enabled, you can still access AI Mode but can't pick up where you left off with previous searches.
