If you’re eligible and interested in Labs, you can access it through the Labs icon . There you can learn about the experiments that are available. Labs experiments, including AI-powered experiences, are in development, and their quality and availability may vary. You can leave feedback to help us improve the overall experience. What you need An Android phone or tablet. Be 13 or older. A personal Google Account that you manage on your own. For now, Labs and its experiments are not available to Google Workspace accounts, including Google Workspace for Education accounts. Learn about the languages and countries where Labs is available. Manage experiments in Labs Turn an experiment on On your Android device, open any browser. Make sure you’re signed in to your Google Account with Incognito mode turned off. At the top, tap Labs Manage . If you don’t find the Labs , it isn't currently available to you. Learn more about Labs availability. Find an experiment that interests you and click Turn on. To find how it works click Try an example. For more info about an experiment, tap its card. To join the waitlist to access an experiment tap Join Waitlist. At the top, tap Labs. Scroll to the bottom. Tap Share feedback. How experiments work Experiments may change how Google Search appears. For example, you might get an AI Overview at the top of search results. Also, you might get different design layouts than you’re used to. Tip: Experiment availability varies. Learn more about the experiments. FAQs What happens after I join the waitlist for an experiment? If you’re on the waitlist for an experiment and it's ready for you, we’ll notify you by email if you opted in to receive email updates about Labs. You’ll be able to turn the experiment off and on at any time, and you’ll also have the opportunity to provide feedback. If you joined the waitlist for an experiment and changed your mind, you can leave the waitlist. How long will I have to wait? The amount of time you'll wait may vary. When will Labs be available in my country? While we can’t share exact dates for when Labs will be available in your country, we're currently expanding outside of the US. What terms of service apply to Labs? When relevant, you may be asked to review and accept terms of service specific to an experiment. These also apply: Google Privacy Policy Terms of Service Why can't I use Labs experiments with a Google Workspace for Education account? Before we make generative AI tools available to Google Workspace for Education accounts, especially those for users under 18, we want to make sure: School administrators have transparency and control over how students access generative AI with their school accounts. School staff and faculty are informed about generative AI tools so they can make decisions that align with their school policies. This includes giving school staff and faculty time to test generative AI tools in their school environment. As we work on this, we'll continue to work with the education community to explore new ways to bring helpful tools and functionalities to educators and students. How long will experiments be available? You can find the end date of an experiment on its card on the Labs page, though these may change over time. What happened to Code Tips? While the Code Tips experiment has ended, we took what we learned from the experiment and applied it to AI Overviews. That means you can now find responses to your coding queries directly in AI Overviews.
