Important: This Help Center article applies to users who have opted-in to the "AI Mode” experiment in Search Labs . If you don't find the Search Labs icon next to "AI Mode" you don't have this experiment turned on. Learn more about the AI Mode in Search experience. To try even more generative AI capabilities in Search, opt into the “AI Mode” experiment in Search Labs, our testbed for innovation. This is an opt-in experiment to collect feedback on new capabilities before they are available on AI Mode in Search. Learn more about where the “AI Mode” experiment is available. Tip: AI responses may include mistakes. Learn how data helps Google develop generative AI in Search. What you need Be 13 or older. A personal Google Account that you manage on your own. For now, Search Labs and its experiments are not available to Google Workspace accounts, including Google Workspace for Education accounts. The experiment is available to users in the following languages. Learn more about AI Mode availability. Without this setting enabled, you can still access "AI Mode" but cannot pick up where you left off with previous searches. Important: “AI Mode” in Labs personalizes responses for users 18+ in the US who have Web and App Activity and Search personalization enabled. To manage Search personalization: In your Google Account, go to Search personalization setting. Turn Personalize Search on or off . Get started with “AI Mode” in Search Labs On your computer, open any browser. Make sure you’re signed in to your Google Account with Incognito mode turned off. Enter a question in the Search bar on Google , and tap AI Mode below the Search bar. You can also go to google.com/ai. Ask any question with text or voice and get AI-powered responses. Ask follow-up questions on a topic. Pick up where you left off through AI Mode history . If you’re a Google AI Pro or AI Ultra subscriber in the US: You can now get things done more easily in Search with the "Agentic capabilities in AI Mode" experiment, from finding restaurant reservations, event tickets, to beauty & wellness appointments. For example: Find me a dinner reservation for [desired date, time, location, preferences, requirements, group size etc] Find me 2 tickets to see [artist in city]. prefer seats with a good view that are still under $150 each Find me a good deal on a back massage in [city] on Sunday afternoon Turn on or off “AI Mode” in Search Labs On your computer, open any browser. Make sure you’re signed in to your Google Account. At the top of the browser, click New tab . At the top of the page, click Search Labs Manage . Toggle off or on "AI Mode". Delete AI Mode history saved in your account On your computer, go to AI Mode. On the left, click AI Mode history to view your past searches saved in your account. Select the AI Mode search you want to delete: A specific search: Click next to the AI Mode history item. All your AI Mode history: Click Delete all . You can also go to your Search History page and click to delete the AI Mode activity saved in your account. What happens when you delete your AI Mode history If you delete searches from AI Mode history, they may still appear in My Activity for some time. These items will be auto-deleted in less than 24 hours. You can manually delete these searches from My Activity. When your search begins with an AI Overview and you choose to "Dive deeper in AI Mode," you might see two entries in your Search history for that interaction. The first entry represents your original query, and the second reflects the transition to AI Mode for follow-up questions. When you delete this search from AI Mode history, it will still appear in your Search history. To completely delete this specific search, you will also have to delete it from your Search history. Give feedback Give feedback to AI Mode Your feedback helps us improve AI Mode. Here's how to share it: Rate the response: At the bottom of each AI Mode response, you'll find thumbs up and thumbs down icons. Click if you found the AI Mode response helpful. To tell us more, click Share more feedback and choose the category that best describes the reason for your feedback. You can add more details in the text field (recommended). Click if you found the AI Mode response unhelpful, inaccurate, or otherwise problematic. To tell us more, choose the category that best describes your issue. You can add more details in the text field (recommended). Submit: Click Submit to send your feedback. The feedback you submit includes your most recent search query and its search results. Give feedback about the experiment On your computer, open any browser. Make sure you’re signed in to your Google Account with Incognito mode turned off. At the top of the browser, click New tab . At the top right of the page, click Search Labs . At the bottom of the "AI Mode" card, click Feedback.
