Basic Validation
Let’s configure a basic validation workflow, step by step.

Create the input form.

Step 2
Create the Action class.

Step 3
Create the validators. The validation.xml format is either &lt;ActionClassName&gt;-validation.xml
or &lt;ActionClassName&gt;-&lt;ActionAliasName&gt;-validation.xml.

Step 4
Make sure there is a result for “input” listed in the struts.xml for when the validation fails:

&lt;result name="error"&gt;/tutorial/error.jsp&lt;/result&gt;

If you don’t have this, you’ll get a: “No result defined for action xxx.xxx.tutorial.HellowWorld and result input” error.
