Effective in 2026, to align with our trunk stable development model and ensure platform stability for the ecosystem, we will publish source code to AOSP in Q2 and Q4. For building and contributing to AOSP, use android-latest-release. The android-latest-release manifest branch will always reference the most recent release pushed to AOSP. contact the device manufacturer.
Note: Google provides build instructions for some device kernels. If a link
is available in the first column of the following table, click the link for
build instructions.

even though the alternative way might also be used to build the kernel.
2Unmaintained means that building kernel with this method should
work, but the build method isn't continuously tested. It
might stop building in the future. Use the official way to build instead.
