From fostering industry connections to advancing sustainability, the Bridge Data Centres (BDC) Durian Festival 2026 brought together more than 1,000 employees, customers, strategic partners, government stakeholders, contractors and community partners across Cyberjaya and Johor under the theme "Savour Sustainably." A key highlight was the launch of "Every Husk Counts," BDC's sustainability initiative that transforms durian husks into nutrient-rich compost, supporting community greening efforts in partnership with Majlis Perbandaran Sepang (MPSepang) and Majlis Perbandaran Kulai (MPKu). We were also pleased to welcome Thrive Well as our community partner, reflecting BDC's commitment to creating meaningful impact alongside industry collaboration. The Selangor State Government, through Invest Selangor Berhad, officially launched the Invest Selangor Business Linkages & Advancement Programme (BLAST) 2026 on 14 July 2026. Officiated by YB Tuan Ng Sze Han, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Investment, Trade and Mobility, BLAST is a strategic SME capability development and business linkage initiative by Invest Selangor Berhad, with the support of the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC). The programme is designed to strengthen the capabilities and competitiveness of Selangor-based SMEs through structured development support, mentorship and market readiness initiatives. It also creates pathways for SMEs to access new business opportunities by connecting them with new and existing investors and companies in Selangor, while maximising investment spillover benefits for the local economy. Implemented under the Second Selangor Plan (RS-2): Local Market Integration Programme, the inaugural cohort comprises 12 selected SMEs across four strategic sectors — aerospace, rail, life sciences and digital technology. The AI era is not asking data centres to do more of the same. It is changing the physics of how they are designed. For years, rack density was a variable we planned around. Today, it is the constraint that defines the entire facility - from grid connection and power distribution to cooling architecture and layout. Training clusters now run at densities ten to twenty times higher than the cloud era, and at that point the nature of the problem changes. Conventional power distribution was built for racks drawing tens of kilowatts. At hundreds of kilowatts per rack, it cannot physically deliver the current required, regardless of how well the facility is cooled. The whole architecture of a data centre has to be rethought from the power system outward, not just the cooling system upward. That is what makes this shift structural rather than incremental. A campus designed around this reality looks different from the start. Power topology, cooling architecture and facility layout cannot be specified separately and integrated later. They have to be designed together, because the constraint that used to sit primarily in the cooling system now sits primarily in how power gets from the grid to the chip. The future will not be defined by individual facilities, but by integrated AI campuses that combine high-density computing, renewable energy, advanced cooling technologies and intelligent operations. Success will depend not only on scale, but on how efficiently and responsibly that scale is delivered. In APAC, that shift is more demanding, not less. Tropical climates mean every watt not delivered efficiently becomes a watt that has to be rejected as heat in conditions that already work against you. Power architecture decisions here cannot be adapted from designs built for temperate markets running at lower densities. They must be engineered for these specific conditions, from this density, from the outset. At Bridge Data Centres, we are exploring next generation power delivery architecture, including high voltage direct current distribution, specifically to support the densities the next generation of AI accelerators will demand. The question we ask at the design stage is not how we cool the rack density of today. It is whether the power architecture we are building can carry the density AI will demand next. The next decade will not be defined by who builds the most capacity. It will be defined by who solves the power delivery problem early enough to keep building.
