We were paying $35,000 a year for a tool that fit maybe 70% of how we actually work.
So we built our own.
Cost: $127 in AI credits. About 40 hours of part-time effort.
The tool itself isn't the interesting part.
The interesting part is what it takes to get an AI-built app from "cool demo" to something your whole company runs its finances on. That gap is where most vibe-coded tools fall apart.
We built a process so ours held up.

Just months ago, I honestly didn't know what MCP meant. Today, I built one in 5 steps and under 5 minutes using Lovable!
And you can do it too!
Here's how simple it is:
Step 1: Visit "More" tab/view and go over to agent integrations, then click on the CTA to create your MCP
Step 2: Review the tools built for your MCP and republish/update your app to make them active (you must update/publish your app in order for this to take effect)
Step 3: Click on "How to connect" to get your MCP URL and the instructions on how to add it to ChatGPT or Claude
Step 4: Go to Claude, then click to add a connector, then paste the URL, type the name and follow the authentication process to approve connection
Step 5: Test your tools, ask a question about something related to your app, then approve the request inside Claude/ChatGPT to get an answer
Step 6: Go back to Lovable and ask it to create more tools for your MCP (in my case I created 3 additional tools), then update the app, and refresh the connector inside Claude to get access to the new tools
Finally, when done, click on the button to create/connect page with instructions for everyone else in your team to be able to connect to this MCP as well!
Simple. Powerful. Collaborative.

Fourteen years ago, Nico pitched an idea to his coworkers at Google: a travel platform that actually helps you when things go wrong, instead of treating you like a transaction.
They laughed him out of the room. They said he'd need millions in funding and a team of engineers he didn't have.
The idea was personal. His girlfriend (now his wife!) got stuck in a snowstorm at Basel airport. Every flight was cancelled, and no one at the airport could help. He found her an overnight train instead, and realized there should've been a tool that showed her that option the moment her flight got grounded.
He couldn't shake the idea, but he just couldn't build it — yet.
Last year, he tried Lovable. In a year, working solo, he built AVARA: flights, hotels, messaging, group trip planning, city guides, an AI concierge, even an emergency safety tool, all in one product. It's live in 15+ countries now, and growing every week.
The person closest to the problem finally had the tool to solve it.

People keep saying you can't leave Lovable:
"You can't get your code out" → two-way git sync, full history, runs anywhere
"Your data is trapped" → Real Postgres export, migrations in your repo. or bring your own Supabase from day one
"You have to host with them" → Frontend on Netlify, Cloudflare, wherever. Or move the backend and keep the frontend. Mix and match how you wish.
Honestly though, why would you?
