Presenting at the Public Investment Fund (PIF) BIM Forum under the PIF BIM Mandate Initiative, #NesmaPartners VDC/BIM Senior Manager, Mohammed Sherief, alongside our Innovation and Technology Manager, Wajdi Sahawneh, shared valuable insight through the paper, "BIM Insights for PIF Mega & Giga Projects: Moving from BIM Compliance to Data-Driven Asset Delivery." They made several recommendations, including adopting outcome-driven BIM, unified data management, and forming a national task force led by the PIF to establish a unified regulatory and standards framework for BIM, digital engineering, and asset information management across the Kingdom. Focusing on improving the entire building ecosystem through BIM data-driven life cycle support, the PIF BIM Forum marked a major milestone under the PIF BIM Mandate Initiative. Wajdi Sahawneh, our Innovation and Technology Manager, Engineering Department, participated as a panelist in a key discussion titled "From Construction to Operations: Delivering Information That Creates Long-Term Value," along with industry-leading experts from AlMabani and FMTech. Sahawneh explored how BIM can be transformed into a powerhouse for real-time decision-making across the project lifecycle. In alignment with Saudi Arabia’s net-zero goals, #NesmaPartners signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Regional Voluntary Carbon Market Company (VCM) ahead of the landmark Saudi Carbon Credit launch, becoming the first contracting company in Saudi Arabia to establish this strategic collaboration. As the Kingdom accelerates toward its 2030 targets - including a 50% renewable energy grid mix and the avoidance of 278 million tonnes of CO2e annually - robust market mechanisms are essential. In this context, a localized carbon crediting ecosystem empowers the private sector to actively buy, trade, and clear high-quality credits to offset industrial emissions.
