The future of quantum hardware: Willow Our hardware focuses on superconducting qubits, which require specialized cryogenic environments and custom control electronics. To achieve greater computational power, we're constantly improving our qubit quality and scaling up their numbers while implementing error correction techniques. We take a full-system approach to building superconducting-based systems. From chip architecture and gate development to fabrication and calibration, error correction informs every step of our process. Our latest quantum chip, Willow, exemplifies this approach. Built in our state-of-the-art facility in Santa Barbara, Willow was designed for performance and flexibility. We use metrics that evaluate the entire quantum computing system holistically, not just individual components. For example, our tunable qubits and couplers allow us to dynamically adjust performance and optimize for faster gates and operations, improving overall system performance. Measuring qubits is just one piece of the puzzle.
