Last July 8, we had the privilege of welcoming Hon. Geraldine Roman, the first transgender person elected to the Congress of the Philippines, to PwC AC Manila for a powerful conversation on LGBTQ+ representation, equality, and the work still ahead. Her story invited our people to reflect on what it means to live authentically, show up as allies, understand the importance of advancing inclusion and equal rights, and help shape a workplace where everyone can belong. Our sincere thanks to Hon. Geraldine Roman for sharing her story, to our Shine Network, our LGBTQ+ community and ally inclusion network, for making this conversation possible, and to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a meaningful dialogue.
Last July 7 to 10, PwC AC Manila welcomed PwC US Assurance leaders Jen Wallner, Director; Jerome Andre Lim, CPA, Senior Manager; Angela Li, Manager; and Kami C., Senior Associate, for a visit focused on strengthening collaboration, building shared perspective, and deepening connections across teams. Throughout the visit, our teams engaged in leadership touchpoints, hands-on coaching, Telecommunications, Media, and Technology (TMT)-wide training sessions for professionals across all levels, team connects, and focused working sessions centered on quality, execution, and the opportunities ahead. Advisory professionals from PwC AC Manila, with leaders from AC Manila and AC India, came together for a three-day learning series focused on building capabilities, strengthening consulting excellence, and supporting professional growth. The series brought together more than 450 participants, attending various targeted sessions such as Advisory Start Experience, The Consulting Mindset Advantage and Advisory Skills Day. Through this experience, participants strengthened their foundational Advisory knowledge, developed a consulting mindset, and enhanced key advisory skills—equipping them to deliver quality outcomes and create greater value for clients. PwC AC Manila was recognized at the Gender Equality Assessment, Results, and Strategies (GEARS) Recognition Ceremony during the 2026 Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (PBCWE) General Membership Meeting and Gender Working Group event on June 30, marking a meaningful milestone in our continued commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable workplace. The recognition celebrates our completion of GEARS and reflects the progress we continue to make through commitments focused on flexible work, professional development, talent management, LGBTQ+ inclusion, accessibility, reasonable accommodations, and awareness-building across our workplace. Accepting the award on behalf of PwC AC Manila were Dennis Basilio, Chief Operating Officer; Robina Abrenica, Inclusion Leader; and Angelie Cabalfin, CPA, Gender Equality Pillar Lead.
