With over 70% of their internal fleet now electrified, NZ Post is well advanced in transitioning one of the country’s most complex and wide-reaching transport operations to EVs. While sustainability has been the big driver for NZ Post, Category Manager of Transport and Fleet, Lauren Baththana (Michel) says that they’re already seeing an EV-favourable total cost of ownership across many vehicle categories, with the remaining improving year on year as technology progresses. ChargeNet’s nationwide network plays a critical role in keeping their teams charged when away from depots. ChargeNet is pleased to announce $37.7m in co-funding from the Government via the National Infrastructure Funding & Financing (NIFF) programme – supporting a major national expansion of public EV charging. What this enables: - Over 1,700 new charging points by 2029 - A re-imagined mix of AC and DC. We’ve got AC for longer stays at shopping centres, parking lots and recreational venues, while we have rapid DC for quick top-ups on the go - More charging hubs and upgrades to regional sites for reliable access on every journey - Delivery with existing site hosts and new partners across retail, councils and destinations.
