What if the buildings of tomorrow were built from the buildings of yesterday? In the construction sector, the end of a building’s life has traditionally been seen as the end of its materials’ utility. Now, we’re changing that narrative. Instead of eventually becoming waste, our own built environment can become a new resource. LIXIL and Toda Corporation are taking a critical step toward making that a reality through a pioneering horizontal recycling partnership. By recovering scrap aluminum from Toda’s demolished buildings and transforming it into our recycled low-carbon aluminum PremiAL, we are closing the loop on construction waste to create high-performance materials for the structures of tomorrow. Environmental challenges and business growth don’t have to be at odds – they can be integrated into a scalable solution that can become a blueprint for cities worldwide. Watch the full video to get a behind-the-scenes look at this latest PremiAL milestone.

The most meaningful lessons don’t always come from textbooks. Last week, Unirun (Universal Run), a hands-on class to learn about Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) through sports, came to an elementary school in Tokyo. This session was led by LIXIL employee and Unirun ambassador Osamu Nagashima, alongside fellow para athlete Shin Ohama. Together, they introduced 21 students to universal design, wheelchair use, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a global framework to address the world’s most critical societal and environmental challenges. The day began with students participating in para badminton, followed by an interactive Q&A session where the athletes shared their personal journeys and invited students to ask questions about accessibility and inclusion. Osamu, who works for LIXIL’s Environmental Tech Development Department, is a distinguished wheelchair badminton player who has competed globally. Last year, he became Unirun’s first ambassador and hopes to continue engaging students through interactive sports experiences and thoughtful discussions. At LIXIL, we believe that making better homes a reality for everyone, everywhere starts with fostering empathy and understanding in our communities. By supporting initiatives like Unirun, we are proud to help create more accessible spaces and spread the D&I mindset across society. #Unirun #Lixil #D&I #UniversalDesign #Accessibility #Inclusion #Education #SDGs #CommunityEngagement

Hear from Our Colleagues to Learn “What Makes LIXIL Inclusive for All?” - LGBTQ+ ERG Special 🌈 At LIXIL, we celebrated the LGBTQ+ ERG Month in June. In Japan, we had the Nagoya Rainbow Pride, and a special learning seminar, while in the Americas, our colleagues in New York prepared events and a memorable video for our Water Experience Centre that is part of the New York Pride Parade’s route. In this month’s Spotlight, we want to share the voices of some of our colleagues who joined these events and showcase how inclusion is not just talked about, but felt at LIXIL! 🤗 Troy Benavidez (LIXIL International): Striving Together to Create ‘A Home for Everyone’ The inaugural event celebrating Pride at our LIXIL Water Experience Center was an important first step for us. It was a reflection of how we are trying to bring people together to work towards our shared vision of a more inclusive society. Tomoko Hagiwara (Chita Plant, LIXIL Water Technology Japan): Embracing learning opportunities without hesitation to learn new knowledge! D&I activities have always been active, but participating in the NRP made me want to deepen my understanding of LGBTIQ+. I want to create a daily environment at LIXIL, where the culture of valuing diversity is taking root, where everyone can be more comfortable. Koichi Kamura (Chita Plant, LIXIL Water Technology Japan): I felt a complete sense of inclusion as we shouted “Happy Pride!” together! I will never forget the feeling of transcending various barriers and becoming one team, and "ONE LIXIL." I feel proud to be a member of LIXIL, with its strong work culture that can generate this immense power and send a message of inclusion to society. Mika Oguri (LIXIL Total Service): Diversity is not something special; it’s simply about respecting each individual! Through the activities of the LGBTQ+ ERG, I hope to contribute to creating a workplace where everyone can work comfortably as themselves. I am happy to be involved as an ERG member. Koichi Kamura:「ハッピープライド!」

When you look at a beautifully renovated kitchen or a modern, water-saving bathroom, you’re looking at the work of a skilled installer. These professionals are the unsung heroes of modern living, ensuring our homes run smoothly, safely, and sustainably. But right now, Europe is facing a quiet challenge: to hit our region's climate and renovation goals, we need an estimated 3 million additional trained trade professionals by 2030. Brilliant technology is only half the equation; we need the skilled hands on the ground to bring that innovation to life in our homes. That is why we are taking part in the conversation at the #WorldPlumbingConference this week. We’ve published a new policy paper that moves past the data points and looks at practical solutions to support the next generation of installers. Our approach is built on what we’ve already seen work through our flagship brands. American Standard’s Trade Up, GIVE, LIXIL construction training schools in Japan, and the SATO mason outreach are proven programmes to develop the next generation of installers around the world. We know the talent is out there, but to truly scale these efforts, we need to collaborate on a broader level. We are sharing with the European Commission six practical recommendations to help modernize trade education across Europe, grounded in partnering with policymakers to help recognize industry-led programs, build a unified European framework for qualifications, introduce new modular approaches to certification and invest in the image of the profession. The installer is the final, essential connection to achieving a sustainable future. We are excited to collaborate with educators, businesses, and communities to give this vital profession the support and recognition it deserves. What happens when a team of R&D experts applies their skills to a challenge they’ve never faced before? At our Aguascalientes plant in Mexico, innovation is more than just a process – it’s a reflection of our "Experiment and Learn" mindset and a deeply rooted commitment to our people. When the team heard the story of their colleague Edwin, a refugee from Honduras who had spent a decade struggling with a poorly fitting prosthetic, they knew they had the tools and the heart to help. By repurposing the same materials and technical expertise they use to design world-class products, the team collaborated to create a custom solution that changed Edwin’s life. It’s a powerful reminder that when we lead with empathy, our skills can solve problems far beyond the factory floor. Watch the video below to see how the Aguascalientes family is building a culture of belonging and dignity, one innovation at a time. #LIXIL #Innovation #DiversityAndInclusion #Impact #Aguascalientes #ACNUR

🌍 Accelerating Impact: Reaching the next 100 million people with safe sanitation. We are proud to announce a major milestone in our mission to solve the global sanitation crisis. LIXIL has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), expanding our strategic partnership to accelerate progress towards SDG 6ーEnsure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for allー by 2030. 💧🤝 Building on our pioneering work since 2019, this renewed collaboration marks an evolution from foundational planning to high-impact social implementation across Africa. How we’re making a difference: 📍 Kenya: Supporting the government’s Shirika Plan in Kakuma to create local jobs and strengthen self-reliance for refugees and host communities. 📍 Malawi: Focusing on climate-resilient sanitation solutions for flood-prone communities. By combining the practical innovation of our SATO brand with local partnerships, we are building self-sustaining sanitation economies that provide dignity and health to those who need it most. 🚽✨ Together, we are moving closer to our goal of improving sanitation and hygiene for the next 100 million people. What do you believe is the biggest barrier to scaling sanitation solutions today? Let’s discuss in the comments. 👇 #LIXIL #SATO #SDG6 #SocialImpact #Partnership #JICA #SanitationForAll #Sustainability
