Posted on April 27th, 2023 by Emily Ensign Share: THE 2023 NICE (NATIONAL INITIATIVE FOR CYBERSECURITY EDUCATION) K12 CYBERSECURITY EDUCATION CONFERENCE The NICE (National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education) K12 Cybersecurity Education Conference Call for Speaker Proposals will open today, April 27, and run until 11:59 pm PST on July 14, 2023. The 9th annual conference will be held on December 4-5, 2023, at the Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak in Phoenix, Arizona. Pre-conference workshops will be held on December 2-3, 2023, at the Grand Canyon University Center for Cybersecurity Excellence. The national event is hosted by the Internet Keep Safe Coalition (iKeepSafe) and funded by a grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This year’s conference presentation theme is, “Designing K12 learning experiences to build a diverse and skilled cybersecurity workforce.” The 2023 NICE K12 Cybersecurity Education Conference is a two-day event that gathered the most dynamic and innovative cybersecurity education leaders and professionals from across the US for an intensive, highly collaborative exploration to promote the discovery of cybersecurity careers and multiple pathways, identify methods to transform learning, and much more. NICE K12 is known to cybersecurity-related educators and educational stakeholders as THE best place to engage with the thought leaders and pioneers leading the charge in classrooms, schools, districts, and regional and statewide cybersecurity education programs. NICE K12 is THE national hub for providing resources in innovative teaching and learning for K12 educators to inspire their students to be the future cybersecurity workforce. The NICE K12 Conference Planning Committee seeks proposals from a diverse array of organizations and individuals with different perspectives, including K12 educators, students, school counselors, higher education faculty, employers and practitioners, non-profits, curriculum providers, research centers, and training and certification providers. Topics should align with one of the five conference tracks: Increasing Cybersecurity Career Awareness, Engaging Students Where Disciplines Converge, Stimulating Innovative Cybersecurity Educational Approaches, Promoting Cybersecurity Career Pathways, and Promoting Cyber Awareness.
