They're being asked to sense, respond, and act reliably in environments built for humans, which means every connection inside them has to perform under conditions that lab specs don't fully capture. The real engineering question isn't whether a robot can move. It's whether the connectors and sensors inside it can keep up over thousands of cycles, in variable temperatures, with the physical wear that comes from actual use. Davy Brown, our VP and CTO for Transportation Solutions, and Thomas J. Schoepf, VP and CTO of Automation and Connected Living Sector, share their thinking on where that reliability work actually starts in this Tech Briefs piece. In the latest Talking Excellence podcast, Shane Lauth, Product Manager at TE Connectivity, joins TTI, Inc.'s Gabe Osorio to discuss how next-generation architecture protection solutions are helping enable safer, more reliable automotive and commercial vehicle platforms. The conversation explores why protection must be considered early in the design process to support increasingly complex, high-voltage and data-intensive vehicle architectures. Key topics include: • The evolving protection requirements for next-generation automotive and commercial vehicles • Why early design decisions improve system reliability and long-term performance • Addressing the challenges of high-voltage, high-power, and data-dense vehicle architectures • How protection solutions help support the future of transportation Listen to the full episode to learn how TE Connectivity is helping engineers design more resilient vehicle architectures: https://lnkd.in/dK3SmQVB #TransportationTechnology #VehicleProtection #AutomotiveInnovation #CommercialVehicles #HighVoltage #LetsGoThereTogether #EveryConnectionCounts 55 1 Comment Like Comment Share TE Connectivity 845,162 followers 3d Report this post As agricultural and construction equipment becomes increasingly connected, telematics systems face growing complexity in demanding environments. The harder question the interviewers are asking is what results you achieved. Malavika Sagar, TE Connectivity's Chief Human Resources Officer, said it directly on the Our Connected World podcast: Employers want to know if you "were able to tangibly do something different." Not whether you held the work, but whether you moved it. The episode offers a practical reframe for anyone who has done meaningful work but is still figuring out how to communicate its impact. TE Connectivity's Jim Tobojka has a name for that gap: a scaling problem, not a use-case problem. At TE Connectivity, we consider AI as a solution before defaulting to conventional approaches. Three recent results: around $380K saved in one business unit using no-code crimping-tool design software, a 99.99%-accurate defect-detection system saving roughly $90K per machine per year, and a 10% cycle time reduction from an AI-controlled stitching system. IndustryWeek's Dennis Scimeca spent time with Tobojka on how TE is building the infrastructure, including IT governance and an AI innovation center in Singapore, to turn those local wins into company-wide practice.
