Internship is often seen as a place to learn how work gets done. But during my journey as a Sustainability Strategic Management Intern at PT Astra International Tbk – Head Office, I learned that professional growth is not only built through the tasks we complete. It is also shaped by the way we listen, communicate, ask questions, receive feedback, and build trust with the people around us. Working in sustainability strategic management taught me that a strong direction does not move forward by itself. It needs context, clarity, and collaboration. It needs people who are willing to align different perspectives and move with the same purpose. As an intern, I may not have had all the answers. But I learned that professionalism can start from simple habits: being prepared, respecting time, giving clear updates, staying open to guidance, and taking responsibility for the work entrusted to us. For me, networking is not about collecting names or expanding a contact list. It is about learning how professionals think, communicate, solve problems, and make decisions. Every discussion and interaction became a small lesson in understanding the workplace better. This experience reminded me that the value of an internship is not only measured by how many tasks we finish, but also by how much trust we build along the way. Don’t just complete the work. Stepping into Corporate Security was not something I had originally planned for Coming from a law background, I entered a field that challenged me to learn beyond governance and compliance. Throughout this internship, I was exposed to information security, people security, safety & environment, risk prevention, and business continuity, areas that were completely new to me More importantly, this experience taught me how to communicate in a professional environment, collaborate with people from different backgrounds, and manage multiple commitments while balancing work, academic responsibilities, and organizational activities Looking back, this internship gave me more than technical experience. It broadened my perspective, introduced me to a new field, and reinforced the importance of continuous learning "Believe with faith, strive with knowledge, and turn it into meaningful action."
