A few days ago, we proudly hosted the VIVACE project meeting at our headquarters. VIVACE is an EU-funded Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action Doctoral Network dedicated to advancing poultry vaccination against avian influenza viruses (AIVs) across Europe. This innovative project is training a new generation of scientists to address the complex challenges and opportunities associated with AIV vaccination. The project focuses on three key areas: - Viral Evolution: Understanding how vaccination affects virus evolution and pandemic risks - Transmission and Management: Improving surveillance tools and vaccination strategies to reduce disease spread - Socioeconomic Impacts: Assessing the effects of vaccination on epidemiology, the economy, animal welfare, and the environment With a consortium of 20 leading universities, research centers, and companies across Europe and beyond, coordinated by INRAE (France), VIVACE drives cutting-edge research and collaborative innovation in poultry health. The programme combined a scientific communication workshop, the project’s Mid-Term Check with the European Commission, and expert lectures on avian influenza vaccination and diagnostics. We were honored to host this important meeting and training, reinforcing Ceva’s commitment to scientific collaboration and the advancement of animal health. #VIVACE #AvianInfluenza #PoultryHealth #Vaccination #OneHealth Gwenaelle Dauphin Clara Delecroix Rebecca Hibbard Sébastien Lambert Laura BOURGOIS Fanny Persson Ina Li Sarah Pletts Dr. Yanshi . 🇧🇫 Ten years ago, a simple conversation planted the seed of what would become one of the most meaningful projects in Ceva's history: 𝗣𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗱𝘂 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝗼 🐓 Today, we are proud to celebrate a decade of this remarkable project alongside the partners who made it possible, working to improve poultry farming in Burkina Faso without displacing the local knowledge, breeds, and communities that sustain it. Through collaboration and by crossing the resilient local “bicycle chicken” with Landes hens from SASSO Traditional Poultry, a Hendrix Genetics company, the project created a bird adapted to its environment, not imposed on it. What followed over ten years is a testament to what collective ambition can achieve. Approximately ten million vaccinated chicks have been distributed, and five hatcheries are now operational. The model is financially self-sustaining, and the income generated by participating farmers is three times the initial investment. This success belongs to many: To Yaya BA, whose leadership on the ground turned vision into daily reality. To Louis Perrault, Thijs H., and Alfred De Vries, whose commitment from the Sasso and Hendrix Genetics side never wavered. To the Boussé Cooperative and the Gates Foundation, whose trust made the long-term view possible. And above all, to the farmers themselves, including the women whose economic independence has grown alongside the project, and the young people who found employment within it. If the Poulet du Faso project has taught us anything, it is this: sustainable models are built with communities, not for them. Hello everyone! A bit different from my usual posts, but I’m thrilled to share this short video by the Ceva team summarizing my past two years in the Graduate Program. Today, I can say that the Graduate Program at CEVA SANTE ANIMALE has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. I have worked in Hungary on site at Ceva Phylaxia Campus and now in Sicile at Vetem. Each rotation pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow faster than I ever imagined. Throughout this journey, I’ve had the chance to truly dive into digital transformation and continuous improvement. From deploying digital solutions to transition paper processes into Electronic Batch Records (EBR), to driving 5S and Lean initiatives that directly boost shop-floor productivity, this experience has solidified my passion for bridging engineering with modern digital operations. The hands-on training and mentorship I received truly bridged the gap between my studies and real-world applications. Moments like the inauguration of our new site – where every single employee was celebrated – reminded me why I chose this path. As this incredible program wraps up this October, I am excited to see where these developed skills will take me next as a digital transformation engineer, and I am highly motivated to keep driving operational excellence in my next professional chapter. Thank you, CEVA SANTE ANIMALE, and all my colleagues for this meaningful journey! 🐄 We are proud to launch 𝗕𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿, a science-based app designed to help veterinarians and farmers detect, assess, and address cattle pain with confidence, directly in the field. Detecting pain in cattle can be complex, as signs are often subtle and difficult to interpret. Early and accurate pain detection is essential for improving recovery, welfare, and herd management. That is why we developed BoviSensor with Oniris Nantes, the National Veterinary School of Nantes, and expert veterinarians, to translate cutting-edge research into an intuitive app. With this new tool, farmers and veterinarians can monitor behavior-based pain, either non-specific or specific, access objective pain scoring, receive expert-based treatment recommendations, and easily export reports for enhanced follow-up and collaboration. By going beyond traditional one pathology-focused tools (eg lameness). BoviSensor offers condition-specific evaluation grids tailored for both adult and young cattle, enabling faster, better-informed decisions right on the farm. This innovation clearly demonstrates Ceva’s ongoing commitment to animal welfare. 📲 This app is now available on Android and iOS in English and French. Registration is currently open in Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and the UK, with more countries coming soon. 🐶 At Ceva, we believe pets can help create a calmer, happier workplace. Through our #PetsAtWork initiative, we have launched an innovative program to support workplace wellbeing by recognizing the human–animal bond with a #OneHealth approach. With up to 29% of employees* in the EU experiencing work-related stress, depression, or anxiety, organizations are seeking practical ways to foster calmer, more supportive environments. Evidence also highlights the positive impact pets can have at work: 67% of employees report lower stress levels when pets are present, and 63% say pets help strengthen relationships between colleagues. At Ceva, Pets At Work allows dogs in the workplace under carefully managed conditions. The program is already showing tangible benefits, including reduced stress, stronger collegial bonds, and a more enjoyable workplace atmosphere. Pets At Work is already in place in several Ceva sales offices in Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom. With PULSE – Ceva’s headquarters – we are taking a new step by introducing the initiative at the core of the company as part of a long-term approach aligned with our values. Hello, everyone! This isn’t something I usually do, but I’m delighted to share with you this short film produced by the Ceva team, which looks back on my experience on the Graduate Program, which I started almost two years ago. From day one, CEVA SANTE ANIMALE has created such a warm and an inspiring environment for us. The hands-on training and mentorship I’ve received have really helped me bridge the gap between my studies and real-world applications. Having spent over a year in Hungary focusing on project management and industrial strategy, I’ve found my place at the Ceva Phylaxia Campus: it’s definitely a hub of innovation and teamwork! Living in Budapest was also a great life experience. The city is so lively, with festivals every weekend, an amazing nightlife, and endless things to explore. There’s always something exciting happening. But honestly, what I cherish the most are the connections I’ve made with my colleagues at Ceva, and within the Graduate Program community! This experience has not only shaped my career path but has also prepared me to tackle future challenges with confidence. I am now back in France, at Libourne Campus to open a new chapter… I truly feel like I’m part of something special here!
