Thank you for this. It had become unchecked. My custom search engines were still working fine, but the defaults weren't. Clicked the box and restarted Opera. All fixed. 😳😅

I really enjoy using Opera AI and Opera GX.
However, I noticed that when I change the topic for a few messages, the AI sometimes forgets the previous conversation.
This makes the chat feel less natural and a bit frustrating.
I hope you can improve the AI’s ability to keep track of different topics better.

Eye exercises would be a great addition to Opera's wellness features, especially for users who spend long hours in front of a screen. Including guided eye relaxation exercises and optional reminders for the 20-20-20 rule could help reduce eye strain and encourage healthier screen habits. Since Opera already offers break and mindfulness tools, adding eye exercises would be a natural and useful enhancement.

I can go Account - Settings - Search cinehd which tells me Google is my default search engine and lets me change the search engine from the list - but not add a new search engine?
I noticed the same thing recently. Google has been rolling out AI Overviews more broadly, so browsers like Opera simply display what Google serves. If you want a cleaner results page, try switching to the Web filter, adding -ai isn't a reliable fix, or use a search engine that doesn't include AI summaries by default. Unfortunately, there's no permanent setting from Google to disable AI Overviews for everyone at the moment.
