Last week, members of the first GRO cohort gathered at our global headquarters in Toronto for Orientation. Joining us from across North America, nearly 200 recent graduates are beginning full-time careers across our business while building connections that will support their growth for years to come. The GRO program is our two-year early talent program designed to help recent graduates build skills, expand their networks, and gain experience through mentorship, learning opportunities, and rotational experiences across the business. By bringing together top emerging talent, the program helps build the skills, perspectives, and capabilities that will help shape the future of our organization. We're excited to welcome this talented group and look forward to seeing the impact they'll make in the months and years ahead.

We recently unearthed a piece of Manulife history at our Canada headquarters in Waterloo. Buried in 2000 to mark the turn of the millennium, the time capsule revealed a fascinating snapshot of our business and workplace 25 years ago. Inside were colleague publications, retirement planning materials, a Manulife Bank access card, CD-ROM resources and keepsakes from across the company. A lot has changed since 2000, but our focus on helping customers plan, protect and grow their financial futures remains as important as ever.

We recently held the inaugural Manulife Longevity Insight Forum in Hong Kong, bringing together executives, academics and thought leaders to explore what it means to live not just longer, but better. From preventive health and integrated care to financial resilience and emerging technologies, sessions explored how health, wealth and social well-being are increasingly interconnected. Discussions also included insights from our 2026 Asia Care Survey, highlighting the growing focus on independence and quality of life. The conversations featured a range of perspectives, including from Oscar-winning actor and producer Michelle Yeoh, who spoke about the importance of healthspan and continuing to grow and stay true to yourself at every stage of life.

From coast to coast to coast, the Trans Canada Trail stretches more than 30,000 km across every province and territory. As the National Trails for Health Partner, we’re working with Trans Canada Trail | Sentier Transcanadien to help more people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds experience the health benefits of the trail. This Canada Day and throughout the summer, we’re encouraging Canadians to take in the trail, explore a new stretch, and enjoy more of what Canada has to offer. #ManulifeImpact

I was grateful to take part in the FT Live Global Insurance Summit in London, joining Huynh Thanh Phong, Edward Moncreiffe, Jonathan Zhao and Oliver Ralph to discuss opportunities for global insurers across Asia. We continue to see strong demand and shifting demographics that create real opportunity in the region. But delivering means having the right local presence and building trust with customers and regulators across markets. For me, it comes back to how we show up for our customers, combining on the ground relevance with global scale to meet the needs of families for generations to come. The trends we’re seeing across the region also reinforce the importance of continued collaboration between the public and private sectors to support long-term investment and innovation in Asia. Manulife is well positioned for our next chapter of growth in Asia, and I can’t wait to see all that our teams will accomplish. Thank you to the FT for bringing this conversation together, and to my fellow panelists for a thoughtful discussion.

From the Manulife Archives: This photo from the 1950s shows the Coffee Wagon at our global headquarters in Toronto. Each day, an operator would take the wagon through the building, stopping at offices to offer coffee and snacks to colleagues where they work. A small routine that brought people together.

It was great to welcome our Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team to our Canada headquarters in Waterloo earlier this month. During the visit, we had the chance to open a time capsule buried in 2000, which offered a look into our history, including our strong and lasting commitment to community in the region. We also experienced live demos that brought to life the innovative ways colleagues across Canada and GWAM are executing on our strategy and helping us to become an AI-powered organization. Thank you to everyone involved for a high energy visit – I’m looking forward to all that’s to come!
