This is a great signal for the wider fleet market, because even companies built on asset-light models are recognising that electric fleet operations depend on the basics: depot capacity, charging access, maintenance workflows, energy availability, uptime, and vehicle readiness. The vehicle technology matters, but the operating environment around the vehicle matters just as much. For any fleet moving toward electrification, the question is not only “which vehicles should we buy?” It is also: How will they charge? Where will they charge? What happens when grid capacity is constrained? How do we keep utilisation high? How do we plan infrastructure before it becomes a bottleneck? The next phase of EV adoption will be shaped by the organisations that treat charging, depots, data, and operations as one connected system. It is important progress, but for fleets don't just need to know how many chargers exist. Fleets need to know whether the right chargers are in the right places, with the right power levels, reliability, access, and dwell-time fit for real operations. A charging port that works well for a passenger car stop may not solve the needs of a depot-based fleet, a regional delivery route, a transit operator, or a heavy-duty vehicle schedule. As charging networks grow, utilisation and planning will matter more than headline numbers. Fleet electrification needs infrastructure that aligns with routes, driver shifts, grid capacity, vehicle duty cycles, and operational risk. This milestone is definitely worth celebrating, but the next challenge is making sure charging infrastructure is usable, reliable, and planned around how fleets actually move. 9 Like Comment Share BetterFleet 8,976 followers 1w Report this post British Columbia’s refreshed Go Electric Rebates program for medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles is set to open on August 10, 2026. The program will provide point-of-sale rebates for eligible Class 2b–8 ZEVs purchased by B.C. businesses, non-profits, Indigenous organizations, and local governments. For fleets, incentives are only one part of the transition. The best outcomes come when vehicle procurement, charging infrastructure, site capacity, operations, and funding strategy are planned together from the start. Contact us today to understand the best way to utilize this funding. 12 Like Comment Share BetterFleet 8,976 followers 1w Report this post This is such an important point. Fleet electrification is not just about buying chargers and vehicles. For fleets that rely on uptime every day, charging needs to be designed around the operating model from the beginning. That means thinking about how the whole system will work in practice: energy management, charger availability, site operations, data, cybersecurity, maintenance, dispatch, and long-term scalability. The real opportunity is not to recreate diesel operations with different assets. It is to use better data and connected systems to run more reliable, efficient and resilient fleet operations. Great piece from our CEO, Daniel Hilson, on why the next phase of fleet electrification needs to start with operations, not just hardware. Daniel Hilson 3w A lot of fleets are making the same mistake with EV charging. EV fleet charging is critical infrastructure but they are buying the assets first and hoping the operating model catches up later. The next phase will be won by fleets that start with the enterprise operating model — and then build the assets around it. When buses, police vehicles, waste trucks, utility crews and logistics fleets depend on charging every day you cant just buy hardware site by site. Fleet productivity, efficiency and cyber security just simply go out the window. So why is it still being bought like a site-level hardware project? EV Fleet Charging Is Critical Infrastructure: So Why Are So Few People Building It That Way? Daniel Hilson on LinkedIn 5 Like Comment Share BetterFleet 8,976 followers 1w Report this post Electric fleets don’t need to run like diesel fleets. In a new FreightWaves article, BetterFleet CEO Dan Hilson explains why the next phase of fleet electrification is not just about adding more chargers, it is about using smarter charging to reduce costs, protect uptime, and get more from every vehicle. For fleets operating at scale, the real savings come from managing the full picture: energy pricing, demand charges, charger availability, route needs, battery health, and vehicle priority. BetterFleet helps fleets move beyond “top-up anxiety” and into optimized charging that keeps operations moving. 14 2 Comments Like Comment Share BetterFleet 8,976 followers 2w Report this post Secure your spot today for this informative webinar co-hosted with Kempower! With diesel fleets, the decision is often relatively straightforward: what vehicle is available, where is it, and what job needs to be covered? With electric fleets, there are more moving parts. Battery state, charger availability, return times, duty energy requirements, depot constraints, maintenance windows and operational priorities all start affecting what the “right” dispatch decision looks like. That is why EV fleet software needs to move beyond basic schedule visibility. The next step is helping operators make better real-time decisions about which vehicle should be assigned, when it should charge, and how to keep operations moving without creating downstream issues. …more 12 Like Comment Share Join now to see what you are missing Find people you know at BetterFleet Browse recommended jobs for you View all updates, news, and articles Join now Affiliated pages EVenergi Truck Transportation Similar pages EVenergi Truck Transportation Blink Charging Motor Vehicle Manufacturing Optimize Software Development Newcastle upon Tyne, England Thinxtra Telecommunications Haymarket, New South Wales SWTCH Renewable Energy Semiconductor Manufacturing Toronto, Ontario Kempower Appliances, Electrical, and Electronics Manufacturing Lahti, Päijät-Häme ChargeLab Software Development Etobicoke, Ontario Flipturn Software Development New York City, New York Whitecollars Human Resources London, England Alpitronic Appliances, Electrical, and Electronics Manufacturing Bozen, BZ Show more similar pages Show fewer similar pages Browse jobs Talent Acquisition Manager jobs 526 open jobs Human Resources Manager jobs 645 open jobs Head of Human Resources jobs 115 open jobs Technical Recruiter jobs 212 open jobs Human Resources Specialist jobs 585 open jobs Recruiter jobs 2,501 open jobs Human Resources Director jobs 498 open jobs Engineer jobs 12,824 open jobs Developer jobs 5,939 open jobs Sales Director jobs 1,241 open jobs Director of Food And Beverage jobs 56 open jobs Human Resources Business Partner jobs 818 open jobs President jobs 331 open jobs Head of Support jobs 1,926 open jobs Vice President Human Resources jobs 20 open jobs Portfolio Manager jobs 1,654 open jobs District Sales Manager jobs 282 open jobs Senior Vice President jobs 194 open jobs Territory Sales Manager jobs 1,611 open jobs Director of Business Development jobs 705 open jobs Show more jobs like this Show fewer jobs like this More searches More searches Talent Acquisition Specialist jobs Talent Acquisition Manager jobs Human Resources Business Partner jobs Human Resources Specialist jobs Human Resources Director jobs Technical Recruiter jobs Head of Customer Experience jobs Recruiter jobs Human Resources Manager jobs Human Resources Generalist jobs Head of Human Resources jobs Director of Resources jobs Vice President Operations jobs Chief Human Resources Officer jobs Fleet Director jobs Transmission Engineer jobs National Sales Manager jobs Key Account Manager jobs Machine Learning Engineer jobs Policy Analyst jobs Director of Software jobs Chief Technology Officer jobs Director jobs LinkedIn © 2026 About Accessibility User Agreement Privacy Policy Your California Privacy Choices Cookie Policy Copyright Policy Brand Policy Guest Controls Community Guidelines (Chinese (Traditional)) Language Agree & Join LinkedIn By clicking Continue to join or sign in, you agree to LinkedIn’s User Agreement, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy.
