  • We're proud to once again support the annual conference of the Zoo and Aquarium Association Australasia as a major sponsor. From 4–7 August, professionals from zoos and aquariums across Australasia will gather at Auckland Zoo to share knowledge, explore new ideas, and strengthen the relationships that help drive conservation, animal welfare, education and visitor engagement across our region. This year's theme, Foundations First: Strengthening What Matters Most, is a timely reminder that lasting success is built on strong fundamentals—people, partnerships, expertise and a shared commitment to positive outcomes for wildlife and the communities we serve. The strongest industries are built on strong foundations. We're looking forward to being part of the conversations, collaborations and ideas that will help shape the next generation of zoos and aquariums across Australasia. #ZAAConference #ZooAndAquariumAssociation #ConservationLeadership #Aquariums #Zoos #WildlifeConservation #AnimalCare #AAT

  • We’re proud to be confirmed as a Gold Sponsor of the 2026 Sunshine Coast Business Awards in the same year Advanced Aquarium Technologies is set to be inducted into the SCBA Hall of Fame. As a Queensland business, this recognition reinforces what long-term, locally built capability can achieve: AAT is a Sunshine Coast–headquartered Australian multinational delivering complex public aquarium projects internationally while continuing to invest in capability near and far. From our Queensland base, AAT coordinates international operations and project delivery, supported by local warehousing, fabrication and value‑added manufacturing—particularly for large‑format acrylic systems used in public aquariums and aquatic infrastructure. As part of our sponsorship, we will present the Export Award, recognising businesses that translate regional capability into international outcomes—an alignment that closely reflects AAT’s own journey from the Sunshine Coast to the world stage. Sunshine Coast Business Awards Chair Jennifer Swaine said AAT’s story exemplifies the strength of the region’s business community. “AAT represents exactly what the Sunshine Coast Business Awards are here to recognise. This is a business that has built real capability locally and taken it to the world stage,” she said. “Their induction into the Hall of Fame is well earned and reflects years of consistent performance, innovation and leadership. Just as importantly, stepping up as a Gold Sponsor shows a continued commitment to backing the broader business community here on the Sunshine Coast.” Thank you to the Sunshine Coast Business Awards leadership and team for their ongoing stewardship of a program that celebrates sustained performance, innovation and leadership across the region. • Planning a major public aquarium renovation is one of the most complex decisions an operator can make. It requires far more than construction — from replacing ageing life support systems and managing construction risk to sequencing works around animal welfare and long-term operational performance. Our latest article shares a behind-the-scenes perspective on the transformation of the Aquarium of Guam, one of the Asia-Pacific region’s most significant renovation projects, through a conversation with Curator (and AAT team member) Alastair Cuttriss. 🔗 Read the article below. #AquariumDesign #AquariumConstruction #VisitorExperience #AdvancedAquariumTechnologies

  • Advanced Aquarium Technologies (AAT) has been named a Hall of Fame Inductee at the 2025 Sunshine Coast Business Awards (SCBA), after securing top honours in both the Building, Construction & Engineering and Export categories at this year’s gala event. Hosted by actor and entertainer Shane Jacobson, the 30th anniversary gala dinner brought together over 800 business leaders and guests at the Sunshine Coast Convention Centre on Saturday, 8 November. 2025 is the third consecutive year AAT has taken home a trophy from the region’s most prestigious business celebration. This milestone qualifies AAT for official induction into the Sunshine Coast Business Awards Hall of Fame in 2026, a distinction reserved for businesses that have demonstrated sustained excellence and impact across multiple years. “This has been a massive year for Advanced Aquarium Technologies,” said Tim Eldridge , Head of Corporate Affairs and Marketing. “Beyond this event, we were also finalists in the Queensland Premier’s Export Awards, which acknowledged our co-founder Michaela Langmead as a finalist in the Women in International Business Award. These achievements speak to the strength, creativity, and determination of our people at every level.” Founder and CEO John Langmead praised the company’s worldwide team for their shared success: “I could not be prouder of the entire global AAT team for their role in AAT’s success as a future Hall of Fame inductee. We’re an Australian multinational with a highly integrated global workforce—and no one here is focused solely on the country they’re based in. Every team member contributes to international collaboration and collective achievement. That’s why credit for our local success truly belongs to our entire worldwide team.” Since its establishment in 1995, the Sunshine Coast Business Awards have celebrated business excellence across the region, growing to become one of Australia’s leading regional business recognition programs. The awards not only highlight outstanding achievement but also foster collaboration, innovation, and pride within the local business community. “This recognition is both a celebration of our past and a motivation for our future,” said Eldridge. “It’s proof that a company born on the Sunshine Coast can make waves across the world.” AAT thanks Jennifer Swaine and her team at the SCBA for once again running a flawless world class event and the judges for their professionalism and volunteerism. • What did you do at work today? At Advanced Aquarium Technologies, our acrylic fabrication and installation team members are also commercial divers and spent parts of their day underwater, surrounded by hundreds of fish — inspecting and maintaining the environments our team helped create. “A day at work” at AAT can mean diving into an oceanarium one day, collaborating with designers the next, and shaping how millions of visitors connect with the marine world. Extraordinary projects need extraordinary people — and we’re proud to have them.
