When writing articles here:
Use Basic English words and shorter sentences. This allows people to understand complex terms or phrases.
Write good pages. The best encyclopedia pages have useful, well-written information.
Use the pages to learn and teach. These pages can help people learn English. You can also use them to make a new Wikipedia to help other people.
Simple does not mean short. Writing in Simple English means that simple words are used. It does not mean readers want basic information. Articles do not have to be short to be simple; expand articles, add details, but use basic vocabulary.
Be bold! Your article does not have to be perfect because other editors will fix it and make it better. And most importantly, do not be afraid to start and make articles better yourself.
Selected Very Good Article
American Airlines Flight 11 was the first hijacked airplane of the September 11, 2001 attacks.  It crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The American Airlines airplane was a Boeing 767.  It was scheduled to fly from Logan International Airport in Boston to Los Angeles International Airport.  Fifteen minutes after takeoff, the hijackers forced their way into the cockpit.  One of the hijackers was a trained pilot.  He took the controls of the aircraft and flew it into the North Tower.
92 people died in the crash—five hijackers, 76 other passengers, and 11 crew members. The time of the crash was 08:46 Eastern Daylight Time. Many people in the street saw the crash.  It was also recorded on film by French moviemakers.  The crash, and the fire that started right after the crash, made the North Tower collapse.  The attack both killed and injured thousands of people.
The American Airlines Flight 11 aircraft was a Boeing 767.  Even though it could carry 158 passengers, the September 11 flight carried only 81 passengers and 11 crew members.

A carom billiard table
Carom billiards, sometimes called carambole billiards or simply carambole are a family of billiards games played on cloth-covered tables. In these games, the players strike heavy balls with sticks called cues. Carom billiards tables have no pockets or opening where balls are sunk, that snooker and pool tables do have. The goal carom billiards games is to score points or "counts" by bouncing one's own ball, called a cue ball, off of the other two balls on the table.
